「Farming Simulator 22」のプラチナエディション向けの最新マップ“Silverrun Forest”を紹介する最新トレイラー公開。テーマは，森が広がるアメリカ北西部

　GIANTS Softwareは，日本でもバンダイナムコエンターテインメントがリリースした大規模農業シム「Farming Simulator 22」（PC / Mac / PS5 / Xbox Series X / PS4 / Xbox One）の最新マップ，「Silverrun Forest」を紹介する最新トレイラーを公開した。

　日本ではあまり見かけないような大型農業機器が400台以上も用意され，小麦やジャガイモ，綿花，ブドウなどを栽培できるだけなく，林業や畜産業なども楽しめる「Farming Simulator 22」。「農業シム」という，ニッチにも思えるジャンルでありながら，すでに300万本というヒットを記録したという。GIANTS Softwareは，以前から告知されていた有償の大型アップデート「Platinum Expansion」と，本編とまとめて購入できる「Platinum Edition」を2022年11月15日にリリースすると発表しており，Volvoなど，新たなブランドを含めた40種類以上の農業機械が追加される。


　発表された「Silverrun Forest」も，プラチナエディション専用になるマップで，果てしなく森が広がるアメリカ北西部の大自然がテーマになっている。ワシントン州やオレゴン州などは林業で栄えた土地柄だけに，公開されたトレイラーでも，のどかな湖沼地帯や，巨大な製材所の様子などが確認できる。
　自分でボートを作って湖に浮かべるといったことも可能になるらしく，水面や水の流れなどなどのグラフィックスも大きく向上するようだ。


　合わせてGIANTS Softwareは，8月23日にリリースする予定のDLC「Vermeer Pack」の情報を公開した。これは，アイオワ州に本社を置く農機メーカー，Vermeer Corporationをテーマにしたもので，刈り取った干し草を全自動で圧縮，梱包する「ZR5-1200」や，2本の巨大熊手で効率よく作業できる「R2800 Twin Rake」など，Vermeerの誇る5つの農業機械がまとめられている。単体購入もできるが，シーズンパスの所有者であれば，上記の「Platinum Expansion」と同様，無料でアップデート可能だ。なお，日本での展開については，今のところ発表されていない。
