	このところFPSシーンで話題をさらっているのは「Half-Life 2」だが，元祖FPSともいえる「Doom」のシリーズ最新作「Doom 3」も忘れてはならないゲームだ。とはいえ，E3でムービーが発表されたきり，何の音沙汰もないので忘れられがちなのは致し方ないところ。 　そんな「Doom 3」の発売は2004年中であることを，販売元Activisionが明らかにした。まだ夏になったばかりで，来年発売とは先の話ではあるが，以前に紹介した，E3で撮影してきたムービー（34.3MB）でも見て我慢していよう。 　ちなみに，もう一つFPSファンには見逃せないタイトル「Quake IV」の発売時期は，2004年第2四半期以降とのことだ。（Asakura）
