UE5リメイク版「ARK: Survival Ascended」，アーリーアクセス開始は10月に延期へ。バトルロイヤルモード以外のDLCは別リリースに

　Studio Wildcardは，2023年8月中にリリースを予定していた「ARK: Survival Ascended」（PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S）のアーリーアクセス版の発売時期を，2023年10月へと延期することをアナウンスした。


　「ARK: Survival Ascended」は，巨大な恐竜や古代生物，さらには神話の動物までもが登場するオープンワールドで，動物を手なずけたり，要塞を作ったりしながらサバイバルを体験できる「ARK: Survival Evolved」を，ゲームエンジンUnreal Engine 5.2でリマスターするタイトルだ。

　Unreal Engine 5.2の高い性能を利用して，美しく描き直された世界でのゲーム体験が期待されるところだが，新しいテクノロジーを使った開発への順応や，MOD機能のクロスプラットフォーム化に手間取っていることが，公式サイトのフォーラム（リンク。英語）で語られている。

　そのため，「ARK: Survival Ascended」のローンチ時に無料配信が予定されていた，DLCの「The Island」と「Scorched Earth」は，ゲーム本編の制作を優先し，ゲーム本編とは別に2023年12月中のリリースになることがアナウンスされている。

　これにより，「ARK: Survival Ascended」に添付される形で同時リリースとなるのは，バトルロイヤルモードである「Survival of the Fittest」のみということになる。さらに，この延期に合わせて，DLC「Ragnarok」「Aberration」は2024年第1四半期へと順次配信がずれ込むことも明らかにされた。


　なお，アーリーアクセス版の価格は44.99ドルとなり，ローンチ割引として39.99ドルで販売されるとのことだ。同時期には，「ARK: Survival Evolved」の続編となる「ARK II」（PC / Xbox Series X|S）のアーリーアクセス版が登場する予定になっているだけに，これ以上の開発遅延は許されない状況にあるといえるだろう。
