ワ〜ガ〜!! 怒れるオルクとなって撃ちまくる「Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef」が10月20日にリリースへ

　オンラインショーケース「ウォーハンマー スカル」（関連記事）で，ベルギーのRoguesideが開発を進める横スクロールの2Dアクション「Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef」（PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X / PS4 / Xbox One / Nintendo Switch）の最新トレイラーが公開され，2022年10月20日のリリースが発表された。

　「Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef」は，ミニチュアゲーム「ウォーハンマー 40,000」の正式ライセンスを取得した，コミカルな2Dプラットフォームアクションゲームだ。アルマゲドン宙域で数世紀にわたって戦争に必要な資源を供給してきた惑星ルテウス・アルファが舞台で，偉大なウォーボス（オルクの中ボス的リーダー），オグルーク・ガトレッカがこの星に到着し，一介の兵士である主人公から，髪飾りとして愛用してきたクリーチャー「ヘア・スクイッグ」を奪い取ってしまった。最強の戦士であることを自負する主人公は復讐に燃え，ヘア・スクイッグを奪還するための長く激しい旅に出ることになるという内容だ。


　クラシカルな2Dアクションとコミカルなアートワーク，そしてオルク同士のユーモラスな会話などを盛り込んだ，カジュアルながらも熱中できそうな作品で，プレイヤーはミニチュアゲームの世界観に基づいたツールキットを持つキャラクターの中から自分の好みのものを選んでプレイする。ヒューマンやオルク，ジーンスティーラーの狂信徒など，敵も多いようだが，最大4人でのCo-opも用意されているので，仲間とともに「ワ〜ガ〜!!」と絶叫しながら撃ちまくるのも楽しそうだ。


　Roguesideは，似た雰囲気のゲーム「Guns, Gore and Cannoli 2」を2018年にリリースしており，このジャンルについてはノウハウを蓄積しているようだ。荘厳で残酷なイメージのある「ウォーハンマー 40,000」の世界では珍しくコミカルな作品だが，自分のキャラクターをさまざまにアップグレードするのも面白そう。
　発表に合わせて，Steamのストアページでデモ版が公開されているので，気になる人はダウンロードしてみよう。
