2Dプラットフォームアクション「Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef」の制作が発表。オルクの兵士となってハイブシティで大暴れ

　ベルギーに本拠を置くデベロッパRoguesideは，Games Workshopのミニチュアゲーム「Warhammer 40,000」の正式ライセンスタイトルとなる「Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef」を発表し，アナウンストレイラーを公開した。公式サイトの発表によれば，対応機種はPCおよびPS5，Xbox Series X，PS4，Xbox One，そしてSwitchで，リリースは2022年内を予定している。コンシューマ機版の日本展開については発表されていない。

　Steamで開催されたデジタルイベント「Warhammer Skulls」で初登場した本作は，「Warhammer 40,000」では「グリーンタイド」（緑の潮流）などとザコ扱いされるオルクの兵士が主人公。敵勢力インペリアルの武器庫である惑星ルテウス・プライムの超工業都市ハイブシティに潜入し，ありったけの火器を使って敵を倒していく横スクロールの2Dプラットフォームアクションだ。


　アストラ・ミリタルム，ジーンスティーラー・カルト，スペースマリーンなど，次々に襲ってくる強敵に対して，ショットガンや火炎放射器，ロケットランチャーといった武器で応戦するという，派手さを強調したアクションが持ち味だ。ウォーロードに怒りの鉄槌を下すため，猪突猛進しよう。最大4人のCo-opにも対応しているほか，PvPを楽しむこともできるという。

　「WarHammer」世界がゴシック調のダークファンタジーであるため，ゲームも重苦しい世界観のものが多いが，本作はトゥーン調でコミカルなアートワークの，とっつきやすそうな雰囲気の作品になっている。オープンしたSteamストアページでは，インタフェースと字幕が日本語に対応することが書かれている。


　なお，「Warhammer Skulls」では，Focus Home Interactiveが6月1日に発売したばかりの新作「Necromunda: Hired Gun」が早くも15％オフになるなど，これまで登場した新旧のウォーハンマー作品が特価で販売中だ。気になる人は，合わせてチェックしてほしい。
