新作アクションアドベンチャー「Stonefly」が海外でリリース。風に乗って森の中を冒険する，心温まる作品

　パブリッシャのMWM Interactiveは，Flight School Studioが開発した新作タイトル「Stonefly（ストーンフライ）」（PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X / PS4 / Xbox One / Nintendo Switch）を日本時間の2021年6月1日にリリースし，ローンチトレイラーを公開した。コンシューマ機版の日本での展開は発表されていないが，PC版はSteamとEpic Gamesストア，GOG.comで販売されており，価格は2050円（税込）となっている。

　1960年代のデザインと自然の両方からインスピレーションを受けたという版画のようなビジュアルが魅力的な「Stonefly」は，若き発明家アニカ・ストーンフライが，失われた家族の宝を見つけるために風に乗って空を飛ぶロボットを開発し，森の中を旅していくというアドベンチャーゲームだ。森の中には，この土地に流れてきたメカパイロット集団「エイコーン旅団」（Acorn Corps）というグループがおり，個性豊かな彼らとの友情を深めると共に，アニカ自身も自分を見つめ直していくという，家族の絆にまつわる心温まるストーリーが展開していく。


　お腹を空かせたクモや甲虫のような敵が登場し，バトルも発生するものの，戦闘は複雑ではなく，相手をキルするのではなく追い払うといった設定になっている。行く先々で見つけた「ミネラル」を使って新しいパーツを作成し，ロボットをアップグレードするRPG要素が盛り込まれるなど，作り込みが感じられる作品だ。


　「Stonefly」を開発するFlight School Studioは，テキサス州ダラスやカナダのモントリオールなど，複数の地域に分かれて開発を進める小規模なデベロッパで，これまでもARやVRゲームなどをリリースしてきたメーカーだ。現段階で日本語には対応していないものの，ローカライズの予定もあるとのことなので，続報を楽しみにしたい。
