「Farming Simulator 22」の最新DLC「Precision Farming DLC」がリリースに。ハイテク機器によって農業のスマート化を促進

　GIANT Softwareは，販売中の大規模農場シミュレーションンゲーム「Farming Simulator 22」（PC / Mac / PS5 / Xbox Series X / PS4 / Xbox One）のコンテンツアップデート第3弾（Content Update #3。Patch v1.4）を配信し，合わせて，無料DLC「Precision Farming DLC」をリリースした。

　「Precision Farming DLC」は，食糧問題の解決に向けてサステナブルな農業技術の確立を推進する欧州連合機関，EIT Foodとの提携によって実現したDLCだ。土壌サンプリングを行う精密機器メーカー，John Deereの「Gator」とISARIAの「SCOUT」が新たに登場し，Ph値や窒素含有量などから土壌を4タイプに分け，どのように収穫を向上できるかが予測できるようになったという。これにより，播種の効率化や，病気の可能性，必要肥料の予想，そして農作業の時間削減などに対する科学的なアプローチが可能になる。


　ゲームのメニューには新たに「Precision Farming」タブが加わり，土壌タイプを示すSoil Mapがチェックできたり，ファイナンス分析のオーバービューと連動することで，経済面での合理性も分かりやすくなったとのこと。さらに，一層の効率化を図る目的で，GPSの精度をさらに高めるReal-Time Kinematic（RTK。動的干渉）装置を備えた「RTK Stations」や，農業機械の格納庫と一体化した「Shed with RTK Station」という施設も新たに登場している。


　最新アップデートは，CLAAS製トラクターの最新モデル「XERION 5000-4000」や，Jungheinrichの小型フォークリフト「ETV 216 i」，コンバインに取り付けるSalekの農業機器が複数用意されているほか，バグ修正や改良なども行われた。
