農業シム「Farming Simulator 22」の新たなマップ“Elmcreek”が発表。アメリカ中西部をモチーフにした大平原を耕そう

　バンダイナムコゲームスが2021年11月22日のリリースを予定している大規模農業シム「Farming Simulator 22」（PC / Mac / PS5 / Xbox Series X / PS4 / Xbox One）の最新トレイラーが公開され，新たなマップとなる「Elmcreek」が登場した。

　すでに発表されている「Erlengrat」は，ドイツ南部からスイスに続くアルプス山麓風のマップで，「Haut-Beyleron」はフランス南部を思わせるマップだが，3つめの「Elmcreek」は，アメリカ中西部のアイオワ州やイリノイ州，カンザス州あたりをモチーフにしたマップだ。高台に登れば，見わたす限りの平野に野球場やガソリンスタンド，工場，住宅地が点在するというのどかな光景が広がっている。見通しの悪いトウモロコシ畑を抜けると，そこに野球場があるといった，何かの映画で見たようなシチュエーションも楽しめそうだ。


　ゲームを開発するGIANT Softwareによれば，「Elmcreek」にはさまざまなサイズの80を超える農業用地が用意されているほか，新たな農業用地を作り出すオプションもあるとのこと。プレイヤーは，マップの中央から始めて好きな作物を自由に育て，マップ全体へと農地を広げていく。新たに導入される「生産チェーン」を駆使してビジネス帝国を築き上げることも可能だ。


　世界同時発売が予定されている「Farming Simulator 22」は，井関農機のトラクター「TJV985」など，100社を超える農業機械メーカーのライセンスを取得した400種類以上の「働く乗り物」を使って，小麦やジャガイモ，イチゴ，ブドウなど20種類以上の作物の播種から育成，収穫，販売が行える。さらに，事業を牧畜や林業まで広げたり，マルチプレイで仲間と一緒に農業を楽しんだりなど，さまざまな遊びが自由にできるシミュレーションゲームだ。四季の移り変わりなど，グラフィックスも向上しており，発売を楽しみにしているバーチャルファーマーも多いはずだ。
