KRAFTONが「サブノーティカ」のデベロッパUnknown Worlds Entertainmentを約571億円で買収

　KRAFTONは，デベロッパUnknown Worlds Entertainmentを買収したことを，同社の公式サイトで明らかにした（リンク 英語）。


　Unknown Worlds Entertainmentは，2001年にCharlie Cleveland氏とMax McGuire氏がアメリカで設立したデベロッパで，「サブノーティカ」シリーズや「Natural Selection」シリーズなどを手がけている。今後はKRAFTONの6番目の傘下スタジオとして，経営陣や開発部門などを維持しながら運営されていくという。現在は，2022年にアーリーアクセスを目指して新しいジャンルの新作PCゲームを開発中とのことだ。

　なお，今回の買収金額は約5億米ドル（約571億円）で，アーンアウト（Earn Out）方式となっており，今後の成果に応じて2億5000万米ドル（約285億円）が追加支給されるという。
