［EVO Japan］自分という存在を証明するためにこれからも練習を続ける――「鉄拳7」部門優勝，Book選手メールインタビュー

　盛況の中，2020年1月26日に閉幕した格闘ゲームの祭典「EVO Japan 2020」。最終日に行われた「鉄拳7」部門の決勝トーナメントでは，英雄と称されるタイの最強プレイヤーBook選手がビッグタイトル獲得をついに成し遂げた。4Gamerでは，大会終了後，同選手にメールインタビューを実施し，今の心境を聞いたので，その内容をお届けする。

Book選手
鉄拳の競技シーンで活躍するタイの若き英雄。高い評価に反して，大会実績がこれまで付いてこなかったが，EVO Japan 2020でついにビッグタイトルを射止めた

4Gamer：
　優勝おめでとうございます。Thaiger Uppercut 2018以来の国際大会での優勝となりますが，今の気持ちを聞かせてください。

Book選手：
　とてもうれしいです。ただ，仁ではなくリロイを使って勝ったということもあり，自分が最初に優勝した大会であるThaiger Uppercut 2018と比べると，複雑な心境です。

4Gamer：
　EVO Japan 2020は新キャラクターのリロイが非常に強いバージョンで行われ，トップ8のうち6人がリロイを使用していました。Book選手もメインキャラクターをリロイに変更した1人ですが，どのような心境でこの大会に臨みましたか。

Book選手：
　私は大会中，常に自分がヒールであるかのように感じていました。大会はリロイ使いが多くを占め，焦点はもはや「誰のリロイが優勝するか」という点だけに集まっているように見えて恐ろしかったです。そしてこのトーナメントで優勝した後，多くの否定的なコメントが私のもとに届きました。ほかの選手がリロイを使って勝ったとしても，彼らは同じように苦言を投げかけるのでしょうか？

4Gamer：
　決勝トーナメントについて聞かせてください。初戦に当たった弦選手とのリロイ同キャラ戦で意識していたことと，勝因を教えてください。

Book選手：
　不利なフレーム状況のときは，リスクのある行動を取らないようにしました。すべての行動に細心の注意を払い，可能な限りセーフティにプレイしたんです。

4Gamer：
　Winner's Final，そしてGrand Finalでは，みきお選手のジュリアとの試合になりました。試合で意識していたことと，勝因を教えてください

Book選手：
　彼はハイリスクな2択をかける自分のプレイスタイルに自信を持っているように見えました。それから，彼はこのトーナメントでリロイ使いたちと戦い続けていましたから，対リロイ戦で必要な知識を十分に持っていました。そして彼は観客を完全に味方につけていました（笑）。私は彼の体力を安全に削りながら，プレイの癖を探すことに集中しました。


4Gamer：
　鉄拳のバランス調整について，こうあってほしいという意見があればお願いします。

Book選手：
　最新のパッチでリロイが弱体化されましたが，個人的にはまだ足りていないと思います。コンボのダメージを減らすほか，懴悔掌（2WP）や義絶寸勁（4WP）のフレームはもっと調整するべきです。それから，浄戒寸勁（66RPRP）はガード後の距離を離れないようにし，連環拳・破（LPLPWPLP）はカウンター確認をできなくしたほうがいいでしょう。

4Gamer：
　Book選手が自国でどのような練習をしているのか教えてください。オンライン，オフラインどちらで練習しているのでしょうか。

Book選手：
　オンラインでプレイするとき，Twitchチャンネルでライブを行いますが，同じ時間帯にプレイしている人を見つけるのは本当に難しいです。練習は，たいていの場合，2〜3時間は続きますが，毎日というわけではありません。
　オフラインでプレイするのは大好きです。お互いにフィードバックを共有できるのがいいところですね。数週間に一度，誰かの家に集まって対戦するのですが，もっと頻繁にやりたいというのが本音です。

4Gamer：
　タイの鉄拳シーンはどれくらい盛り上がっているのでしょうか。また，全体のレベルについて聞かせてください。

Book選手：
　50〜60人くらいのプレイヤーがいます。しかし，ゲームセンターや特定の誰かの家といった決まって集まる場所はなく，そのときどき，空いている友人の家に集まります。タイの選手のレベルは数年前に比べて向上していますが，上位プレイヤーの層は薄く，国内でトーナメントが開催されたときは，毎回同じようなメンバーが上位を占めます。将来，タイの選手がもっと強くなって，自分以外の選手も海外のトーナメントで戦えるようになることを願っています。

4Gamer：
　タイの強豪選手がいればお聞かせてください。

Book選手：
　Uncle Ben, Juiestorm, Shin Akuma, ReaperRabbit, LORDBEAR，Frikiなどがいます。

4Gamer：
　動画を見て研究するのに時間を多く使っていると聞いたことがあるのですが，それは本当でしょうか。

Book選手：
　対戦したいときに対戦できる，という環境がないので，昔は大会の動画をひたすら見て研究していました。そして，彼らの動きの意味を考えて，自分にとってプラスになると思ったらそれを取り入れてきました。ただ，最近は以前より動画を見る時間が減りましたね。

4Gamer：
　今年をどんな1年にしていきたいか，抱負をお願いします。

Book選手：
　すべてのトーナメントに出場して，すばらしい結果を残したいです。 2018年はEVOで5位，2019年はEVO Japanで7位という結果だったので，今年はもっと良い結果を出したいです。それから，今年はゲームのことだけでなく，人としてもっと成長できる年にしていきたいです。

4Gamer：
　最後にメッセージがあればよろしくお願いします。

Book選手：
　最後まで私のインタビューを読んでくれたみなさん，ありがとうございます。私がどんな状況で，どんな気持ちになりながらプレイしていたか，伝われば幸いです。私は皆からヒールのように見られたいとは思っていません。私はこのゲームが大好きだからプレイをしています。このゲームが皆にとって，よりよいかたちで改善されることを願っています。

Congratulation again. Your victory at such kind of global tournaments, might be since "Taiger Uppercut 2018"(sorry if we are wrong), how do you feel now?

Book：
I'm happy that I've made it with Leroy although It's not the best feeling compare to TGU 2018 when I got my first TWT 1st placed.

4Gamer：
During EVO Japan 2020, "Leroy" was almost dominating the tournament, as same as the FINALS,
6/8 players picked Leroy, was not so familiar in the past TEKKEN tournament scenes.
As on your pick was leroy too, how do you feel during this tournament?

Book：
Seems like I was the villain in this tournament. I was really scared because this tournament was dominated by Leroy players and the spotlight would go to whom that seized the trophy with Leroy. And of course, after I've won this tournament, I've received a lot of negative comments. Imagine if I didn't win but other pro won by using Leroy, would they be still making any complaints?

4Gamer：
Let us ask you about the matchups on FINALS.
Your first matchup was "Liquid Gen", using same Leloy.
What kind of plans and notice brought you the winning?

Book：
I've tried not to challenge when I was at frame disadvantage due to Leroy's arsenal. I was worried of everything so I played as safe as possible.

4Gamer：
Next,on Winner's Final & Grand Final was against "ITO mikio", using Julia.
What point did you take care of and moved during both matchups?

Book：
He was really confident to play 50/50 style. Also he got all the experience he needs with Leroy from this tournament. I believe that everyone was rooting for him. haha. So I kept poking him with safe moves and I was looking for his reaction.

4Gamer：
What kind of patch updates/balancing do you think will be most liked by the players?

Book：
In my opinion, Leroy should be nerfed more than this. Reduce the combo damages, more recovery frames for moves like b+1+2 and d+1+2. Less pushback for moves like f,f+2,2. Lastly 1,1,1+2,1 cannot hit confirm.

4Gamer：
Usually, what kind of practice do you play in your home?
Especially, either Offline or Online is much more familiar to you?

Book：
when I play online I will go on live on my twitch channel but it's really difficult to find anyone to practice with since they aren't available at the same time. My practicing session goes on about 2-3 hours most of the time but not every day. I do love offline. We can share and give feedback to one another. We will gather at someone's house every couple of weeks. I hope we can do that more often.

4Gamer：
the next question is about TEKKEN community in Thailand.
How many players, locations, events or playable places are in Thailand?
How do you feel about the player level in Thailand, especially against other countries?

Book：
50-60 players. We don't have a designated place to play, if some of my friend's house is available, we will gather there. The level of Thai players is better to compare to a couple of years ago but it's only a few players that always be ranked on the top. Always place in the same position when the tournament was held. I hope in the future that Thai players will be stronger and be able to compete in oversea tournaments more.

4Gamer：
Is there any strong player in your country?

Book：
I can say now top Thai players are Uncle Ben, Juiestorm, Shin Akuma, ReaperRabbit, LORDBEAR, and Friki.

4Gamer：
In the past, we heard you take many times to checking movies for training,
if it is true, can we ask you the detail?

Book：
I watch tournament videos for training because I cannot play Tekken whenever I want. I've watched many players (Mostly high level players),think why they played like this and copy if it interests me, but in these days I spend less time watching the videos.

4Gamer：
For now, you have started your 2020 as a Champion!
What is your future resolution?

Book：
I want to compete in every tournament and make good results. In 2018 I got 5th placed many times. 7th n 9th placed in 2019. So I hope I can do a better result in 2020. Also, I want to focus on my health n self improving. Not only for gaming career.

4Gamer：

Book：
