「Destiny」のβテストに463万人ものテスターが参加していたことが明らかに

　Activisionは，2014年7月17日より10日間ほど行われていたBungieの新作オンラインFPS「Destiny」（PS4 / PS3 / Xbox One / Xbox 360）のオープンβテストに，総計で463万8937人ものユニークユーザーが参加したと発表した。


　Activisionによると，「現世代において最高のテスター数」としており，確かにPlayStation 3/Xbox 360世代を含めても，これまでの据え置き型ゲーム機タイトルでこれほどの規模のβテストが行われた事例は過去になく，史上最高であるのは間違いなさそうだ。メンテナンスを理由にアクセスできない時間帯はあったものの，これだけのプレイヤー数がスムーズにプレイできていたことから見て，ローンチに向けたサーバー負荷テストは成果を上げられたのではないだろうか。

　Destinyは，北米では9月9日，日本ではPlayStationプラットフォーム専用で9月11日の発売が予定されている。世界的に大注目の1作となるのは間違いなく，βテストに参加したゲーマー達の期待も大きく増したのではないだろうか。
