「スリーピングドッグス 香港秘密警察」国内発売は9月27日。香港アクション映画の要素を取り入れたオープンワールドタイプのクライムアクション

　スクウェア・エニックスは本日（2012年6月27日），「スリーピングドッグス 香港秘密警察」（PC / PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360）の日本国内における発売日を，9月27日に決定したことを発表した。価格は，PC版がオープンで，PS3/Xbox 360がともに7980円（税込）。いずれも，CEROレーティングはZ（18歳以上対象）となっている。

　本作は，格闘シーンやカーチェイスなど，香港アクション映画のエッセンスを多分に取り入れたオープンワールドタイプのクライムアクションゲーム。プレイヤーは潜入捜査官ウェイ・シェンを操作し，香港の犯罪組織「サン・オン・イー」を壊滅させるため，警官であることを隠し，時には友人をも利用しながら，構成員として組織内部へ潜入していくことになる。トム・ウィルキンソン，ルーシー・リュー，エマ・ストーン，エディソン・チャンといった映画俳優達がキャラクターの声をあてるなど，声優陣もかなり豪華だ。

　なお，本作はスクウェア・エニックス傘下の「アイドス」ブランドの作品となっており，北米では現地時間の2012年8月14日，欧州では現地時間の2012年8月17日に発売される。日本国内においては，スクウェア・エニックスの海外ゲーム専門レーベル「SQUARE ENIX EXTREME EDGES」の最新作としての発売だ。
