Steamで“圧倒的に好評”を得る「Portal 2」の大型MOD「Portal: Revolution」が日本語へ対応。Portal 2の前日譚を描くファンメイド作品

　2011年にリリースされ，伝説的な人気を得ている一人称視点パズルゲーム「Portal 2」，そんな人気作品の大型MOD「Portal: Revolution」という作品がある。

　本作は，「Portal」と「Portal 2」の間の物語を描いた作品で，長年の開発を経て，今年（2024年）の1月にSteamにて正式リリースされたMODだ。オリジナルに負けず劣らずのパズルや，ボイス付きのナレーションなど，ファンメイドながらその高いクオリティが評価され，4月5日現在のSteamレビューでは“圧倒的に好評”となっている。


　これまで「Portal: Revolution」は日本語に対応しておらず，パズルを楽しめても，せっかくのナレーションやストーリーを楽しむには若干ハードルが高く，プレイするのに気が引けていた人もいただろう。しかし，4月1日にリリースされたバージョン 1.6.0にて，とうとう日本語字幕への対応が実施された。

　本作に登場する40ステージ以上のパズルには新ギミックも用意され，ボリュームはかなりのもの。難度も「Portal 2」よりやや難しく設定されているとのことで，想定プレイ時間は5〜8時間にも及ぶそうだ。「Portal 2」を所持していれば無料でプレイできるので，かつて「Portal」シリーズにハマった人はぜひプレイしてみてほしい。
