id Software，「QuakeCon 2008」で開かれる対戦イベントを発表

　id Softwareは公式サイトを通じ，アメリカのダラスで現地時間の7月31日〜8月3日に開かれる，「QuakeCon 2008」会場で開催予定の対戦イベントの詳細を明らかにした（7月9日付けのニュース）。
　今回のQuakeConで開かれる対戦イベントは，以下の三つだ。

■The Intel QUAKE LIVE Championships
　同社が無料で提供予定の，ブラウザベースのオンラインFPS「QUAKE LIVE」を用いたトーナメント

■The Activision Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Team Championships
　マルチプレイFPS「Enemy Territory: Quake Wars」の最強チームを決するトーナメント。Windows版およびXbox 360版のトーナメントが別々に開かれる

■The Alienware Quick-Draw Challenge
　こちらも「QUAKE LIVE」を用いたトーナメントだが，出場者は会場でランダムに選出される
