アクションRPG「Mass Effect」，PC版発売が正式に発表

　BiowareとElectronic Artsは，Xbox 360向けに発売されているスペースアクションRPG「Mass Effect」のPC版を，2008年5月に北米で発売すると発表した。

　宇宙のどこかに5万年ごとに現れて，あらゆる生命，文明を破壊していく機械生命体がおり，彼らは有機生命を根絶するためだけに存在し，その魔手が地球へ向けられようとしていた。プレイヤーは宇宙船SSノルマンディ号の指揮官シェパードとなり，この史上最強の敵と戦わねばならない，というのがMass Effectのストーリーだ。

　PCへの移植にあたり，インタフェースに大きな変更が加えられ，操作方法がPC向きにされるほか，高解像度グラフィックスへの対応などが行われているという。ゲームの公式サイトはオープンしており，多くのスクリーンショットやムービートレイラーが見られる。
