Midway Games，二つのスタジオ閉鎖 「Gauntlet」開発スタジオも
アメリカのシカゴに本拠を置く，ゲームパブリッシャ＆デベロッパのMidway Gamesが，二つの開発スタジオを閉鎖した。閉鎖されたのは，オーストラリアのアデレードにあるMidway Australiaと，アメリカのサンディエゴにあるMidway San Diegoだ。
Midway Australiaは，元々，Midway Gamesが買収したRatbagというゲーム開発会社で，2005年8月に現在の名前に変更されたばかりだった。
Midway San Diegoは，先日，コンシューマ機向けに発売された「Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows」を開発したスタジオで，あのJohn Romero氏やJ.E.Sawyer氏といった，有名なゲームクリエイターが在籍していた。
当初，Gauntlet: Seven SorrowsはPC向けに発売される予定だったが，途中からコンシューマ機専用に変更され，RomeroとSawyerも相次いで辞めてしまった経緯がある。（朝倉哲也）
