Turbine，「LotRO」用のダウンロードマネージャβ版を公開

　Turbineは，「Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar」のアップデートなどを円滑に行うための新たなダウンロードマネージャのβ版Turbine Download Manager Betaを公開した。

　このダウンロードマネージャはゲームのバックグラウンドで動作し，アップデートパッチなどを，ゲームプレイを中断させることなくダウンロードしてくれるというもの。正式に導入されれば，ゲーム開始時にパッチのダウンロードをじっと待っている必要がなくなるはず。

　今回公開されたβ版では，Lord of the Rings Onlineのサウンドトラックのダウンロードができるようになっている。ダウンロードマネージャを起動するとミュージックファイルのダウンロードが始まり（ファイルサイズは約307MB），ダウンロードが終了するとPlayボタンが表示されるので，ボタンを押すとミュージックプレイヤーが起動して音楽が再生される（ミュージックプレイヤーは，ダウンロードしたPCで音楽ファイルを再生するように設定してあるものが起動する）。ミュージックファイルのダウンロード中に，先ごろ英語版で実装された「Book 13: Doom of the Last-King」の開発者ムービーも視聴できる。
　なおこのソフトウェアは，ダウンロードしたファイルをP2Pで共有するようになっている。Turbineではセキュリティの心配は無いと明言しているが，気になる人は使用を控えておいたほうが良いだろう。

　正式版のリリース時期は未定だが，β版は英語公式掲示板からダウンロードできる。FAQは「こちら（英語）」に掲載されている。
