「The Lord of the Rings Online」，北米でBook 13が実装＆1周年記念イベントが発表

　「The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar」の北米サーバーに，無料大型アップデート「Book 13: Doom of the Last-King」が実装された。

　このアップデートでは，新たな冒険の地である雪と氷に覆われたフォロヘル（Forochel）の追加，ロスソス（Lossoth）族とそれに伴う新たな名声の追加，モンスタープレイ用の新種族Defilerの追加，趣味のスキルとして釣りの実装，新たなクエストやアイテムの追加などが行われる。
　「Book 13: Doom of the Last-King」は，ヨーロッパ地域では近日中にも実装される予定。日本語版での実装予定は，現在のところ未定となっている。

　また北米地域では，4月24日でサービス開始1周年を迎えたことから，これを記念したイベントが北米サーバーでスタートした。イベント期間は2008年6月2日まで。これは，モンスターを倒すとレベルに応じたトークンがドロップし，これを所定のNPCに持って行くとギフトボックスと交換してもらえるというものだ。
　ギフトボックスには，ポーションや生産用のアイテム，レシピ，衣装などがランダムに入っており，開けてみるまでは何が入っているか分からない，お楽しみボックスとなっているということだ。
