Uwe Boll（ウーヴェ・ボル）氏は，ゲームを題材とする映画を数多く手がけている監督で，4Gamer読者なら，その名前を一度は耳にしたことがあるのではないだろうか。 そのBoll氏により，映画「Alone in the Dark」の続編「Alone in the Dark 2」が制作されることが決まった模様だ。海外映画情報サイトのScreenDaily.comが掲載したニュース記事によると，キャストなどの詳細はあらためて発表され，2007年夏からニューヨークで撮影が行われるという。
現在，Boll氏が手がけている映画には，2007年6月に公開される「Far Cry」や，同年9月に公開予定の「POSTAL」があり，スケジュールに無理がありそうな気もするが，Alone in the Dark 2では監督ではなくプロデューサーを務めるとのことだ。（朝倉哲也）
