D＆Dベースの新作RTS「Dragonshard」の公式サイトオープン
テーブルトークRPG「Dungeons＆Dragons」をベースとするファンタジーRTS「Dragonshard」の公式サイトが，「こちら」にオープンした。
D＆Dの世界観やルールを採用したRPGは数あるが，「Dragonshard」は（おそらく初めての）RTSで，ユニットは戦闘に勝つことで経験値を蓄えレベルアップしていくというRPG要素も含まれている。
プレイヤーはEberronと呼ばれる世界でしのぎを削る，"Order of The Flame" "Umbragen" "Lizardfolk" "Monsters"の四つの軍勢の中の一つに所属し，それぞれの軍勢に固有のユニットを率いて戦っていくこととなる。
公式サイトでは，ゲームプレイを収録したムービートレイラーやスクリーンショットなどが公開されている。ショットなどを見ると「ウォークラフト III」にかなり影響を受けていそうだ。
ファンタジーRTSが好きなら，ぜひムービーを見てみよう。巨大ユニットが出てきたり，転がってきた大きな石の球にユニットが押しつぶされてしまったりと，これは面白そうだなと思わせるシーンを見られるはずだ。
開発はアメリカのLiquid Entertainmentで，あのファンタジーRTS「Battle Realms」の開発元といえば，RTSファンならば本作に期待をかける人も多いのではないだろうか。発売日は2005年6月14日で，価格は49.99ドルの予定。（朝倉哲也）
